Energy bill hike will add to Brexit squeeze on households - Davey
Commenting on reports that energy bills could rise for 100,000 households in the next week as fixed rate price deals draw to a close, Ed Davey, former Liberal Democrat Secretary of State for Climate Change, said:
"With food and petrol prices up thanks to Brexit, this is yet more bad news for people.
"What's worse, the Conservatives' energy policy would put prices up even more as their price cap would end the best deals on the market.
“Competition has being steadily reducing the power of the Big 6 energy companies but Liberal Democrats would go further to reduce their market power, and get bills permanently down with much more energy efficiency."
