Save our local buses!

The Covid-19 pandemic saw a fall in the numbers of passengers using local buses, as we were all forced to stay at home. Although most restrictions have now been lifted the number of people using buses has still not recovered as people are still nervous about being in crowded places. This means that some of the feeder buses that link remote estates to other bus route and shopping centres are under threat.
Despite Boris Johnson's promise to Bus Back Better, the government has cut funding for bus services. This means that many bus routes are under threat, such as the 424 service in Great Barr. We urge people to use these local buses that link some of our isolated estate to main bus routes like the 5 and the 51 routes.

The Guardian (23 Jan 2022): Boris Johnson’s ‘bus back better’ plan in tatters as Treasury cuts funding by half

Sign our petition calling on Transport for West Midlands to keep these services. They are a vital link for many residents.

We the undersigned call on Transport for West Midlands to keep its feeder bus services, such as the 424, linking remote areas with main routes.
