Bristnall Speeding Petition

43 of 50 signatures

Manjit Lall and the local Liberal Democrats have been calling for action against speeding on various roads around Bristnall. We have asked for speed checks and other measures, but more needs to be done.

Speeding is something that several residents raised as an issue on several roads via our Resident's Survey. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Dog Kennel Lane
  • Starkie Drive and its cul-de-sacs Goode Close and Garrett Close
  • Landswood Road
  • Bristnallhall Road
  • Thornwood Close (St Pauls)

Urgent action needs to be taken before someone is killed.

We are asking Sandwell Council to undertake an investigation into speeding across Bristnall and measures to tackle this. This includes exploring the rollout of average speed cameras across Bristnall , implementation of 20mph speed limits, or else consulting with residents about their preferred method of traffic calming on the worst streets and implementing this.

Average Speed Cameras have proved to be successful in other areas, and a trial in Birmingham found them to significantly reduce speed. Please sign our petition if you support this.

We, the undersigned, call on Sandwell Council to undertake an investigation into speeding across Bristnall and measures to tackle this. This includes exploring the installation of average speed cameras, 20 mph speed limits, or else consulting with residents about their preferred method of traffic calming and implementing this on affected roads.

We also call on West Midlands Police to increase the number of speed checks on Bristnall roads in the light of recent incidents.

We will include your name and address when submitting the petition to Sandwell Council.
