The local Lib Dem Focus teams, along with our colleagues in Perry Barr, have been campaigning to save the Perry Barr flyover and ensure that that the changes being made to the A34 for the proposed Sprint bus route reflect local opinion. There are a number of concerns, both with the plans themselves, and the highhanded way Birmingham City Council and the West Midlands Regional Authority and Mayor have conducted themselves, and the consultations.
These include:
Plans to Demolish the Perry Barr flyover being rushed through without proper consultation
Lack of local consultation while planning the Sprint bus routes and changes to the A34
Proposed Park and Ride scheme near Junction 7 of the M6 (Handsworth Rugby Union Club)
Failure to plan for effects on shopping and other facilities at the Scott Arms
You see more details about our concerns in this post in March.
